Dear Clients and Friends,

I am writing to share with you that I will be leaving MacMobile and Columbus in July. I am returning to Maine to be near my relatives while we start a family.

I wanted to be sure that you all could continue to get the computer help you need. I sought to locate a suitable replacement for me and am very pleased to introduce you to Lyn Spring. I have known Lyn for a few years and find her to be very easy to talk with as well as knowledgeable about and actively interested in the care and feeding of Macintosh computers. I know that she will take excellent care of you and your Macs.

MacMobile will remain in the same location with the same website address and phone number. Both my office manager, Roberta, and my apprentice, Aaron, will continue helping MacMobile to serve you in all your Macintosh needs.

Thank you again for working with me. I am leaving Ohio a better person and technician for having known you. You have honored me by sharing your projects, excitement, and interests. I depart Columbus knowing you'll be in good hands with Lyn.

Let me begin by saying that I'm sure you will all miss Tom; I know I will. Starting the first of May I will be taking over the ownership of MacMobile, and Tom will continue working with me until the end of July to make the transition as smooth as possible. He has been very kind throughout this process and I feel fortunate for the opportunity to learn from his expertise.

Since we're going to be working together, I want you all to know about my background and experience. I started out with an Apple IIe at my high school, and have been a professional software programmer since 1993. In 1999, I joined my spouse (Doug Cottrill) at our software company and began doing Macintosh support work as an additional service for some of our clients in 2002. I found that I enjoy working with hardware and tech support even more than programming, so when Tom offered to sell the business to me, I was excited about the opportunity.

After spending three months working with Tom, I realize that I have some large shoes to fill. I'm very impressed with how he's been handling things and while I'm sure there will be differences, my plan is to carry on with minimal change. Fortunately, both Roberta and Aaron have agreed to stay and help me so that MacMobile can continue to give you the same level of service you've come to expect. As we move ahead, I look forward to getting to know you all better. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact either of us.
